Where did you grow up and go to school?

I grew up in upstate New York and was homeschooled. I went to Atlantic Cape Community College for nursing school.

What other jobs have you had before Bethany Associates?

I am a registered nurse and have worked on med-surg floors and as a Home Health Nurse in Atlantic City. I also worked in Bethany Associates Picture Framing for a few years.

What skills have you learned from previous employment?

As a home health nurse, I was able to accommodate a variety of people and their needs, as well as learn route work and case management. I’ve gained valuable secretarial skills that have helped me in my role at Bethany Associates.

How long have you been employed with Bethany Associates?

I’ve been employed for eleven years.

What does a typical day look like for you?

During a typical day, I answer phones, schedule customers, process paperwork, do accounts receivable, and a variety of other clerical responsibilities. I also do estimates over the phone, a service we do for free.

What needs and challenges are you able to meet for people?

When scheduling a job, I work with customer’s needs and desires and do my best to make a good match with our availability.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I find it most rewarding when a customer has a specific scheduling need and I am able to make it work for them.

Tell us about your family and what you did for vacation this year.

I have been married to Sam Poat for thirteen years. We have two girls, a boy and another one on the way! My husband’s family is in California so we had a nice time visiting recently. We really enjoyed Gilroy Gardens Amusement Park, Pine Crest Lake, and spending time with family.
