Getting a free estimate for your windows is easy. Just call Bethany Associates and we will be happy to assist you. In order to give you the most accurate estimate, our representative will ask you a few questions about the style of windows in your home. Are you familiar with the names of the most common types of windows? If not, take a look. The following are the most basic categories of windows:
The Double-Hung Window
Double-hung windows are perhaps your most popular window for homeowners today. Containing two sashes (panes of glass) that move up and down, the double-hung window may or may not come with grids.

The Casement Window
In contrast to the double-hung window, the casement window opens outwards by the use of a crank rather than sliding up or down. Like the double-hung, casement windows may or not come with grids.

The Slider Window
This window contains two sashes that glide horizontally in the track of their frame. Slider windows may come with or without grids.

Other Styles
Here are a couple of other types of windows to be aware of.
The Transom Window
This is a fixed window above another set of windows or doors.

The Arch
A semi-circle often found above both doors and windows, the arch may or may not come with grids.

The Awning and Basement Window
While many awning windows open outward, the basement or hopper window opens inward.

The French Window
This window is easily confused with other types of windows. Unlike the styles listed above, the French window contains grids that are non-removable. Can you easily remove the grids of your windows (attached by small connectors to the frame)? If not, your windows would be considered French windows.
